There is nothing better than getting piece of mail in your box, especially one that is not a bill. This little envelope was the perfect thing to find on the first day back from vacation. I love the details of the custom stamps and postage Itzy added to the envelope and the response cards.

There is nothing better than starting a wedding invitation project with a bride that you have never met and by the time you ship off the final product, you are good friends! So much so, that I almost hand delivered them to NYC. I guess we will just have to save our meeting until the wedding day. 

When my old and dear friend Bo emailed me saying "Angie meet Itzy. Itzy meet Angie, we want you to do our wedding invitations", I was over the moon with excitement! Itzy wanted something fun. Something different. Something vintage. She knew what she wanted but she was wanted me to be creative and think outside the box. The couple is getting married in Tulum Mexico in November.  For the invite Bo specifically requested something that resembled a retro travel poster and something that didn't say typical wedding invitation. I think we accomplished that! For the RSVP,  we chose to do a postcard with a vintage inspired map of the area. "Wish you were here!", beckons the guests to join them at the beautiful destination. Being world travelers, Itzy and Bo both wanted the information card to have a passport feel. I found some fun travel stamps and created a personalized one just for the couple to add dimension to the back of the card. We added a small loop of chocolate bakers twine to the top for a little extra detail.  Instead of using an innner envelope we chose a cotton muslin bag. I cant wait to see the final, final product after Itzy adds another stamp to the bags for a little extra personal touch.

a modern, classic atlanta wedding

Here is a project that we just completed.

The venue was set - the Vinings Club overlooking the Atlanta skyline. Susie, the bride knew that she wanted something modern, with a hint classic and a whole lot of fun.We wanted to  capture her and her fiance's vibrant personalities and the amazing venue all in one. I started their wedding suite with this chevron and skyline save the date and continued the color and textures into the invitations.

Congratulations to the happy couple. I can't wait to see pictures from the big day! I'm sure that it will not be anything less than fabulous!

...or the beach or a barn, perhaps a field of wild flowers or a fancy club - it doesn't matter where the vows are exchanged, this week we are all about weddings! We have been in full wedding mode since the middle of February here in the studio and why not share the very, very, very first wedding invitation that I ever designed - mine.   


Fourteen years ago tomorrow, my high school sweet heart and I said "I do". When I put together these very simple wedding invitations, I had NO IDEA that this is what I would be doing today. But, even back then, long before I even had an inkling that inkSpotts would, could and even had the possibility of existing,  I loved everything paper and couldn't resist tackling my invitations myself. Simple and sweet, yet I cringe every time I look at them. I dissect every line.  But, maybe ever little thing that I see wrong about them, is what is what makes them even more innocent and special. I guess you have to start somewhere, so it mite as well have been my own.

Remember this inspiration board that we put together back in August for an invitation project that we were starting to work on?

Well, we have just put the finishing touches on it and it is ready for the printer. We had a blast working with the happy couple. What were our guidelines? We needed to incorporate rugby, a VW camper van and it was too be fun and casual.

Now, all we need to do is save all of our pennies for those April plane tickets to England. Congratulations Jools and Laura.
