why this photo?

here in atlanta, what we wouldn't do for a day like january 12 right now! we are hoping this brings a little cool breeze to wherever you are this morning.

another reason for this particular photo, it happens to be the photo that we used on the holiday card that was accepted into Shutterfly's Holiday 2011 line. we can't reveal what the card looks like so be sure to check their website soon!

{christmas in april}

Just when outside April showers are bringing May flowers, the inkSpotts studio was a Christmas wonderland. I am still pinching myself in disbelief, that inkSpotts was chosen to be a part of A Fresh Bunch Licensing Group. It is the opportunity that I have been working towards for the past 10 years! Pinch me harder, the first project was designing Holiday cards for a major retailer. Nothing like jumping right in. Here are a few of the samples that inkSpotts submitted. Now it is up for the client to decide. Just like the Jack Johnson song, "I am sitting, waiting, wishing.." I'll be sure to keep you posted!

But like I said, the experience working with some of the "greats" has been well worth it all! And now, I am going to enjoy a little break and go for a very long walk!

The Spotted Dog

Many of you inquired about our "Everything London" when you saw no further updates. No, you didn't miss any posts or new additions. Our "Everything London" week at inkSpotts got put on hold when we suddenly had to say goodbye to our studio dog, Berg. The loss of our dear friend not only made it difficult to function around the studio but any thought of creativity was stripped. We are slowly putting ourselves back together and thought that we would dedicate this blog to our sweet girl.

If you ever stopped by for a consult or a pick up and order, she was at the door to greet you with a wag and a lick. Just today, one of our clients commented how sad and quiet it was with out our spotted furry friend under foot.

You may recognize her from a few of our designs or logos from years gone by. Our tailgating designs is one of our very first sketches and over our 8 years has been an on going favorite. It hard to imagine life around here without her.

THIS WEEKS SPECIAL: Whether it be a sticker, bag tag, note card or labels, put a Berg on it and will donate 20% off all of tailgating design sales to the Atlanta Humane Society.

The studio was all a bustle last week when we were invaded by The Other Megan Photography and Curtis Baker. Thanks to Curtis and Megan, we have some great new product shots for our new website, portfolio and this and that. It was great fun to collaborate with both of them. I'm not sure that any of us have fully recovered from the day, it was most definitely a perfect storm of creative forces.

{don't color on the walls}

Yes, I was that kid that was always being told "the walls are not for coloring on". I am going to have a hard time explaining that one to my daughter, I am sure.

I have turned something that was once considered being mischievous, into yet another aspect of the inkSpotts business. It is fun and invigorating to switch to such a large canvas. Whether it is a four legged best friend or something to match a nursery theme it is always exciting to see where the inspiration may lead.

eliza loves looking at the extra large painting of her best friend berg that is painted over the mantel in her nursery. and the three little birds, remind us that everything little thing is going to be alright.

{WE'RE BACK!!!}

It has been over four months since our last blog, but my how time has flown by. I would like to say, Happy New Year, Happy Spring, and welcome to the world, baby Eliza!

I am officially announcing that I am back from maternity leave, although I am not sure that I technically ever stopped designing, cutting and printing. In denial that she would actually be coming early, I spent half of my labor designing a 5 year old birthday invite (I will be sure to share that with you later). I have taken a few jobs here and there but am finally ready to get back into the swing of things. inkSpotts is open for business!

This week, I would like to dedicate my blog to life as a Mom! I promise, it won't always be this way. I just thought it would be the perfect way get my feet wet again.

There are many new things coming to inkSpotts in the very near future. New products. New designs. New website and much, much more, so stay tuned!
