{Happy Valentines Day}

One of the advantages of living in a hundred year old village is all of the stories and lore that comes with it. inkSpotts is nestled in a little cotton mill village just minutes from the bustle of down town Atlanta. City life is a stone's throw away yet, sit a spell on one of our front porches and the peaceful will put you a million miles away.

I was told this weekend of a Valentines tradition that used to take place amongst the villagers. I thought that it was too sweet to not share. On

Valentine's night they would "throw" Valentine cards to each other. They would place the cards on the porch and threw a rock. The sound of the rock hitting the wooden porch would signal a card was left. I LOVE it!!!! A tradition that certainly needs to return to Whitti

er Mill Village. Maybe it something that

we could all start. Spread the love!!!

Thanks so much to Whittier Mill Village for allowing inkSpotts to be apart of your annual Parktoberfest! We had a blast working with you designing t-shirts, pint glasses, and custom prints just for your neighborhood. It was a great day in one of the best parks in Atlanta!

"three little birds"

maybe they were in inspired by the bob marley tune that was playing or the "sweeps" that keep eying up our chimney to build their nest for the second year in a row. however they came to be, these birds have much deeper history than just that -

our studio is tucked away in a little historic neighborhood in the northwest corner of atlanta. whittier mills village was a thriving cotton mill village from the 1920's until 1971. this week, my neighbor shared a treasure with me. she had been loaned, a book of of city maps from 1920. we couldn't stop studying the pages of our little secret corner of the city. i couldn't just let the pages lie there...from copies of that book, these happy little birds came to life. i can't wait to share this with everyone in the hood.
